Why Orby
Built for people who love more than one.
On most dating and community apps, ethical non-monogamy is just a filter in the search tab. And for people who are curious about it, there’s no real way to find your path, step by step. That’s why Orby exists.
What we kept seeing missing
- Couples and polycules squeezed into profiles built for one person.
- Curious people with no direction, learning in leaps and spread over many platforms.
- Apps built to collect data and sort people into categories.
- Consent left to chance, in awkward messages.
What we built
Privacy and respect
We keep as little data as possible and never sell it. Every member is ID-verified, chats and calls are end-to-end encrypted, and everyone agrees to community rules before they can meet anyone.
Your path, at your own pace
Step-by-step paths, card levels and games like Yes · No · Maybe and the Dare deck let partners and new connections explore together. Everyone has their own private limits, and a no is never shown.
Together, the way you live
Couples and polycules appear together, and each person says yes for themselves. Your partners live in your orbit, and you decide who sees what.
More than dating
Dating is one part of it. Members share their journey in a feed, and community events are coming.
The promises we never break
A safe place, not a judge
Members are adults. What they do, and how fast, is up to them.
Private by default
Nothing about you, your partners or your games is public unless you choose it.
Consent, not pressure
Everyone agrees privately before anything starts. Stopping or pausing is always free and silent.
Your own pace
Steps guide you; they never lock you in.
Trust can’t be bought
No payment hides, edits or outweighs anyone’s badges or reputation. Plus buys convenience, never trust.
Privacy before growth
No feature may reveal who uses Orby, who’s linked to whom, or who said no.
Who’s behind Orby
Orby is run by Recyco Tech LLC, an independent company: no big dating company owns it. And we want to build it with the community: we’re inviting Toronto’s communities to be its founding communities, to use it before anyone else and shape it.
Where we’re going
Toronto first. Then the cities where a network forms: when 500 people within about 50 km have joined the waiting list, we get ready to open there, once we’ve checked it’s safe and legal for members.
